This hike is one of the most visited by foreign tourists, most of them coming from Project Mercy. From the Project Mercy hospital, walk uphill to the "river." Before crossing, follow the village path leading West towards the mountain that parallels the river. There are multiple route options, but be sure you head generally West with the river gorge below you to the North. You will pass many houses and farms before finally ending in a forested gorge which leads up to the waterfall, called "Fanna," which means "footprint" (perhaps because of the nestled and carved out nature of the rocky gorge). The waterfall is about 50 ft. tall and is quite small for most of the year except around the rainy season. A dangerous hike up the North side of the gorge and scrambling along a steep rocky cliff with mortal consequences for a fall (not recommended) will take you to a second and smaller waterfall eventually. Follow the trail up to and through the riverbed. The falls is probably 1000 ft. further West beyond the dangerous cliff area, in a small gorge off to the North of the main creekbed. Guides are strongly recommended to visit this area, because of the sometimes slippery and dangerous rocks of the riverbed, where people have drowned and cracked skulls in the past. The first falls is about 2.5-3 miles West up the gorge from the Project Mercy Hospital.
